I understand the value of counting how many days it's been since your last drink, but I've never understood why people who have gone years sober are suddenly considered tragic when they blow it with a single episode of relapse. Sure, you may have blown your personal record, but if you get back on that horse and start again, you've still got those sober years firmly under your saddle. They still count, is all I'm sayin.
